Election Commission to Announce 229 Senate Disqualifications Monday
Thailand's Election Commission will announce Monday its ruling on 229 disqualified Senate candidates, with the decision revealed at 3 p.m. following a committee meeting that morning.
The Election Commission confirmed on September 13 that it will announce its ruling on the disqualification of 229 Senate candidates following a committee meeting scheduled for Monday, September 14. The press briefing will take place at 3 p.m. in Meeting Room 201 on the second floor of the Election Commission office.
Media outlets must register by September 13 at 4:30 p.m. using a Google Form, with each news organization permitted to send no more than three representatives. Registered media can collect press credentials starting at 1:30 p.m. from the main entrance (east side) of the commission's headquarters.
Unregistered media, observers, and members of the public will not be allowed inside the meeting room but can watch the announcement via closed-circuit television monitors set up outside the building at the east entrance. The briefing follows a committee meeting set to begin at 10 a.m. The case has drawn intense scrutiny, with reports circulating throughout the day that the commission may release its decision in a written statement instead.
