A fire broke out at the Bang Lamung Police Station barracks in Na Kluea, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province at 5:30 PM on November 6. The Pattaya Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center (Pattaya Fire Station, Na Kluea District) received the alert and dispatched three fire trucks along with a rescue unit from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation in Pattaya.
The scene was a four-story barracks building. Thick smoke billowed from the second floor, specifically the far-left room. Firefighters sprayed water to contain the blaze, bringing it under control in approximately 20 minutes.
Preliminary findings indicate the room served as the investigation officers' workspace. The fire damaged nearly the entire room, with case evidence suffering severe damage. Notably, this room is on the same floor as the station commander's office.
An officer on scene reported that before the fire, an investigation officer ran in requesting fire trucks because of a fire on the second floor. The officer rushed upstairs with a fire extinguisher but saw only smoke at that point. Fire trucks then arrived and brought the situation under control.
The cause of the fire remains unknown but is suspected to be an electrical short circuit. Forensic officials will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause.
