The decision resolves a jurisdictional dispute in a case brought by an MP candidate against the EC Secretary-General and eight commissioners over their handling of election fraud allegations. Thailand Cuts Sugarcane Burn Quota to Meet Green Export Rules

Thailand's sugar industry is preparing stricter burning limits for the 2026/27 season, cutting the daily mill quota for burned cane from 20% to 15% and targeting a season-wide maximum of 5%. The move aims to reduce PM2.5 pollution and align with evolving EU sustainability regulations that, while not yet directly covering sugar, create indirect pressure on energy costs, traceability, and labor standards.
