Fire Origin Found in Bangkok Beer Hall Fire
Investigators have identified the fire's origin point near the stage area of a Bangkok beer hall where 27 people died, with negligence suspected as the preliminary cause pending further forensic analysis.
A major fire at a beer hall near Ladprao Soi 1 in Jomphol Subdistrict, Chatuchak District, Bangkok has claimed 27 lives, including 9 men and 18 women. On July 13, Deputy National Police Commissioner Thatchai Pitanilabut stated that preliminary findings suggest negligence may be the cause, and ordered police and the forensic division to conduct a thorough investigation at the scene to gather evidence and identify the true cause of the incident. Pitanilabut emphasized that all agencies must prioritize public safety and care, and instructed investigators to urgently collect evidence, interview relevant witnesses, and examine facts in detail to identify those responsible and proceed with legal action.
Forensic Division Commander Watee Asutwatmangkur reported that initial investigation has located the fire's origin point near the stage area. However, a more detailed inspection is scheduled for 9 a.m. today, with chemists and physicists participating to definitively determine the cause.
