Police have confirmed 27 deaths from the fire that destroyed a beer bar in the Ladprao area of Bangkok, with initial victim identifications being released. Tragically, many bodies were discovered clustered in and around the bathroom area. The incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. on July 12 near Soi Ladprao 1 in Chatuchak District. Firefighters and rescue personnel from multiple agencies rushed to assist victims with emergency resuscitation efforts, with initial reports indicating nearly 30 deaths and more than 60 injuries.

At 12:30 a.m. on July 13, 2025, rescue and fire personnel cleared the interior of the building after the fire was extinguished. The internal structure of the entertainment venue was completely destroyed and reduced to ash and charcoal. Investigators discovered many bodies trapped inside the bar, with the majority found clustered near the bathroom entrance and inside the restrooms. It is believed that when the fire broke out and the electricity failed, patrons could not see emergency exits and attempted to flee into the bathrooms, where they were overcome by smoke and flames.

At 1:00 a.m., Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by senior police officials and forensic teams from the Police Hospital, arrived at the scene to inspect and conduct preliminary autopsies. The Prime Minister expressed deep condolences to families of the victims, noting that most deaths occurred as people fled into the bathroom area. He stated that preliminary interviews with survivors and musicians indicated that smoke emerged from equipment on stage before the lights went out, followed by an explosion-like sound and then smoke filling the bar. Patrons fled toward the back of the building to the bathrooms, which had no clearly marked emergency exits.

Police have updated casualty figures to 27 deaths (9 male, 18 female) and 18 injured, with the injured distributed across multiple hospitals classified by severity: 8 critical cases, 7 moderate cases, and 3 minor cases. Authorities are continuing investigations at the scene and working to formally identify all victims.

Upon arriving at the scene on a dirt road near Kok Ma village in Buriram's Prakon Chai district, they found a 40-year-old man named Atit (nicknamed Tum) lying face-down with a stab wound to his chest, abrasions on his face and body. Rescue workers attempted CPR, but his pulse was extremely weak. He was rushed to Prakon Chai Hospital but died from his injuries.

Investigators believe he was stabbed elsewhere and attempted to ride his motorcycle away for help but lost consciousness from severe blood loss, causing the crash. No witnesses saw the attack. The village headman reported having no prior knowledge of the victim's troubles.

The victim's relative, 39, revealed that Atit had been living in Kok Ma subdistrict for over 10 years and previously worked as a road surveyor. A month before his death, Atit visited asking for help resolving a conflict with teenagers from nearby Moo 8 over a romantic dispute, but his relative declined to intervene. The relative said Atit then fell silent about the matter until the fatal stabbing. Police are investigating and seeking to identify and arrest the perpetrator.

Ex-Soldier Shoots Girlfriend's New Boyfriend Dead in Bangkok

A soldier from Ratchaburi shot and killed his ex-wife's 19-year-old boyfriend in Bangkok on January 12, wounding the woman who was in the vehicle, before fleeing the scene.

A soldier from Ratchaburi province, the ex-husband of a woman, burst into gunfire killing a 19-year-old man, who was her new boyfriend, in his vehicle while parked beside a house with the girlfriend seated beside him, who sustained serious injuries in the Soi Chaloem Phra Kiat Rama 9 30 Soi 28 area of Pravet district, Bangkok, before fleeing. According to earlier reports, on January 12, 2025, a reporter visited the scene and spoke with Hia Meng, the factory owner where both the deceased and injured worked. The man was a lathe operator while the woman was an office administrator at the factory.

Regarding the motive, Hia Meng suspects it stemmed from jealousy, as the woman, Ms. Thal, had previously dated and registered marriage with Mr. Golf, the perpetrator, who is a military accountant at Ratchaburi province, before they separated and registered their divorce two years ago, with no apparent problems since their separation.

Ms. Thal later began dating Mr. Rathapoom, or Feem, the deceased. Although the two had an age difference, they appeared to love each other and there was never any sign that Mr. Golf attempted to threaten or quarrel with them or try to reconcile with the woman.

"Regarding Mr. Golf before he separated from Ms. Thal, he would regularly pick her up and drop her off at the factory, and from his outward appearance, he seemed like someone not prone to sudden anger. However, I know that Mr. Golf always carried a gun with him at all times. I never imagined something like this would happen," the factory owner said.
