Ex-Soldier Shoots Girlfriend's New Boyfriend Dead in Bangkok
A soldier from Ratchaburi shot and killed his ex-wife's 19-year-old boyfriend in Bangkok on January 12, wounding the woman who was in the vehicle, before fleeing the scene.
A soldier from Ratchaburi province, the ex-husband of a woman, burst into gunfire killing a 19-year-old man, who was her new boyfriend, in his vehicle while parked beside a house with the girlfriend seated beside him, who sustained serious injuries in the Soi Chaloem Phra Kiat Rama 9 30 Soi 28 area of Pravet district, Bangkok, before fleeing. According to earlier reports, on January 12, 2025, a reporter visited the scene and spoke with Hia Meng, the factory owner where both the deceased and injured worked. The man was a lathe operator while the woman was an office administrator at the factory.
Regarding the motive, Hia Meng suspects it stemmed from jealousy, as the woman, Ms. Thal, had previously dated and registered marriage with Mr. Golf, the perpetrator, who is a military accountant at Ratchaburi province, before they separated and registered their divorce two years ago, with no apparent problems since their separation.
Ms. Thal later began dating Mr. Rathapoom, or Feem, the deceased. Although the two had an age difference, they appeared to love each other and there was never any sign that Mr. Golf attempted to threaten or quarrel with them or try to reconcile with the woman.
"Regarding Mr. Golf before he separated from Ms. Thal, he would regularly pick her up and drop her off at the factory, and from his outward appearance, he seemed like someone not prone to sudden anger. However, I know that Mr. Golf always carried a gun with him at all times. I never imagined something like this would happen," the factory owner said.
