Flood Damages Over 4,000 Vehicles; Viriyah Mobilizes Claims Teams
Nationwide flooding has damaged over 4,000 vehicles, prompting Viriyah Insurance to activate claims teams and deploy recovery operations across affected areas including Bangkok and surrounding provinces.
Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited is mobilizing to handle damage from the nationwide flooding crisis. Claims operation centers across flooded areas reported as of September 29, 2025 that more than 4,000 vehicles have suffered flood damage. The company is currently inspecting and assessing damage to proceed with claims settlement.
On September 29, Doldej Satjaviraguul, Deputy Managing Director of Viriyah Insurance, disclosed that the flooding in Bangkok and surrounding areas, particularly low-lying zones and roads with high water accumulation, has affected road users, with some vehicles unable to be moved out in time.
Monitoring shows water levels receding in some areas with signs of improvement, though other locations still have standing water or rising water levels, requiring continued vigilance. The company has deployed staff and coordinated support networks according to each area's situation, preparing claims management to handle affected customers.
For vehicle assistance, the company is applying its "First Aid Operation" approach, previously used in past flooding events including the Hat Yai flooding in Songkhla province in late 2024. This includes damage surveys, coordinating tow trucks and recovery vehicles, and moving vehicles from affected areas.
Doldej noted that in areas with access restrictions, policyholders can report incidents for staff coordination and receive guidance on vehicle care during flooding.
The company is also monitoring other provinces, particularly the central and eastern regions still affected by heavy rain and flooding, with continuous water level tracking.
Nattapong Bunyen, Assistant Managing Director of Viriyah Insurance, stated the company uses its network of claims operation centers nationwide to receive reports, coordinate towing and recovery vehicles, relocate vehicles from risk areas, and conduct surveys and claims settlement.
Additionally, the Viriyah Volunteer group, comprising executives, employees, agents, and partners, is preparing to support flood victims by surveying needs before sending data to headquarters to prepare relief packages, essentials, and ready-to-eat meals for distribution.
For flood reporting, policyholders can contact Viriyah Insurance through the hotline 1557, Line Official at @viriyah, or their local claims operation centers. Contact channels are available at https://www.viriyah.co.th/ under the Service Points menu to report damage and receive initial advice.
The company will coordinate local staff to proceed with appropriate steps including damage inspection appointments, damage assessment, and claims settlement, providing 24-hour continuous support to policyholders.
