Floods Submerge 31 Thai Provinces, Bangkok, Over 1.2 Million Affected
Heavy rainfall and northern runoff have left 31 provinces and Bangkok flooded, affecting over 1.2 million households and more than 3.5 million people. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is accelerating drainage, aiding vulnerable groups and beginning recovery work, while two deaths have been recorded in Kanchanaburi.
The flood situation spans 31 provinces plus Bangkok, covering 179 districts, 1,279 sub-districts and 9,339 villages. According to data from the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Operations Center at 06:00, 1,245,581 households and 3,535,206 people are affected. In Phitsanulok, Bang Rakam district sees three households impacted with water levels receding. Phetchabun reports 82 households affected across six districts, also receding. Kamphaeng Phet has 3,128 households affected in two districts, water falling. Nakhon Sawan shows 11,928 households affected in 14 districts, with rising water. Uthai Thani reports 4,785 households affected in eight districts, rising. Lop Buri has 1,657 households affected in five districts, rising. Chai Nat records 1,581 households affected in seven districts, rising. Sing Buri has 974 households affected in three districts, rising. Suphan Buri records 18,987 households affected in nine districts, rising. Kanchanaburi has 9,635 households affected in 13 districts, rising, with two fatalities. Ang Thong reports 2,009 households affected in five districts, rising. Saraburi lists impacts in 13 districts (details truncated). Ongoing efforts focus on drainage, relief and rehabilitation.
