Deputy Government Spokesman Ploytalae Luksameesangchan announced on July 10 that foreign film productions seeking permits through the Tourism Authority of Thailand reached 302 projects in the first half of 2026, representing 4.025 billion baht in investments—more than half the entire 2025 total. With major productions preparing to launch in the second half of the year, Thailand is positioned to set new records for foreign film production revenue in 2026.
Feature films generated the highest investment value at 1.989 billion baht across 21 productions, followed by game shows and reality programs at 811 million baht across 22 productions, and commercials at 710 million baht across 152 productions.
The top five countries and territories investing in Thailand were the United States at 1.543 billion baht, Hong Kong at 322 million baht, Finland at 300 million baht, Germany at 297 million baht, and the United Kingdom at 230 million baht.
"These achievements reflect Thailand's potential as a world-class filming destination, with competitive locations, professional crews, production support systems, and investment incentives at international standards," the deputy spokesman stated. "The government's foreign film production incentive program, offering cash rebates of up to 30%, will help position Thailand as a regional hub for international film and content production while generating sustained economic benefits, employment, and long-term value."
