Former MP Nichit Supports Rangsiman Rome After Parliamentary Ejection
Former Democrat MP Nichit Intrasombat expressed support for Move Forward MP Rangsiman Rome after Rome was ejected from parliament for questioning a female MP’s undisclosed assets worth over 1 billion baht. Nichit, who often disagrees with Rome, said he sympathised with him and highlighted the sacrifices required of opposition MPs, citing his own legal battles and previous ejections. He urged Rome to continue investigating the matter.
Nichit Intrasombat, former Phatthalung MP for the Democrat Party, posted on Facebook on October 2, 2026, saying he monitors whether MPs earn their taxpayer-funded salaries. He noted that Move Forward MP Rangsiman Rome was ejected from the parliamentary chamber after raising concerns about a female MP who declared over 1 billion baht in assets without a clear source of income. Nichit admitted he and Rome do not see eye to eye, but he felt sympathy for Rome after seeing him removed, noting that being an opposition MP is difficult and often requires personal sacrifice, citing his own experience of facing 14 lawsuits and being ejected from the chamber three times. He said he separates personal feelings from duty, and that the issue of the female MP’s unexplained wealth has "hit a nerve" and Rome will likely keep digging. Nichit added that what Rome faced yesterday is less than what he himself has experienced, recalling being locked out of the chamber during debate on the amnesty bill, after which protests erupted nationwide.
