Four Myanmar Men Arrested After Chasing Thai Teens With BB Guns
Four Myanmar nationals were arrested after chasing three Thai teenagers on motorcycles with BB guns in Phuket, damaging their phone and motorcycle during the attack.
At 11:51 p.m., a group of six offenders on three motorcycles used firearms to chase three Thai boys aged 14-15 riding a single motorcycle, forcing them to flee for their lives. The attackers also smashed the victims' mobile phone and power bank, causing 18,000 baht in damage, and threw the motorcycle key into a drainage pipe. The victims filed a complaint at Phuket City Police Station, prompting an investigation.
On August 13, at 4:30 p.m., Phuket City Police led by Lieutenant Colonel Chatri Chugaew apprehended four suspects: Daw (21, Myanmar national), A (15, Myanmar national), Nyan Kite (21, Myanmar national), and Mai Soe Aung (21, Myanmar national). They were arrested in the areas of Koh Kaew, Chalong, and Patong subdistricts.
During interrogation, all four confessed to driving through Phuket city when they encountered the three Thai victims. After an exchange of looks, they chased them on motorcycles. The Thais fled and sought help at a convenience store, while the suspects used BB guns to threaten them and destroyed their property before escaping. Police seized three motorcycles, clothing, and the BB guns as evidence. The suspects face charges of criminal intimidation and property damage and have been transferred for further legal proceedings.
