Gold Prices Rise to Nearly 70,000 Baht Per Gram
Gold prices climbed 400 baht on August 15, pushing ornamental gold to nearly 70,000 baht per gram, with analysts predicting further gains if US inflation continues easing.
The Gold Traders Association announced that gold prices rose 400 baht on August 15, 2026, compared to the previous day's closing. Ornamental gold (96.5% purity) was selling at 69,550 baht per gram and buying at 67,173.96 baht per gram. Gold bullion was quoted at 68,550 baht per gram for purchases and 68,750 baht per gram for sales. Global spot gold prices stood at 4,377 US dollars per ounce. Market analysts suggest waiting for price dips before buying, noting that easing US inflation could push gold above 4,400 dollars per ounce.
