Government Offers Up to 40,000 Baht Subsidy for Domestic Tours
The Thai government has launched a new tourism subsidy program, 'Travel Around Thailand with Tours', offering up to 40,000 baht per trip for group bus and van travel. Running from mid‑October 2026 to January 2027, the initiative aims to stimulate domestic tourism and generate over 208 million baht in revenue. It requires cross‑province trips of at least two nights and includes a variety of themed tour packages.
The scheme runs from October 15, 2026 to January 31, 2027, supporting group travel with subsidies of 10,000 baht per bus per day (minimum 30 passengers) up to 40,000 baht per trip, and 2,500 baht per van per day (minimum 6 passengers) up to 10,000 baht per trip. To qualify, trips must be at least two days and one night, involve an overnight stay in a different province, and include highlighted activities set by the partner agencies. The Tourism Authority of Thailand will cover the transport costs according to the project’s rules, and the initiative is expected to generate at least 208.8 million baht in tourism revenue, boosting spending across hotels, restaurants, attractions and local communities.
