Thailand Tourism Stimulus Program Offers 1 Million Vouchers

On September 9, 2025, Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Kanthacherjsavakul announced details of the Thailand Tourism Plus domestic tourism stimulus program following a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti Nitithadprasasp and Thai Tourism Authority Governor Thapanee Kiaortpibul. The government will allocate a total of 1 million vouchers on a first-come, first-served basis to help tourism operators and spread revenue throughout local communities.
Each voucher includes accommodation support of up to 1,500 baht at flat rate, plus e-coupons for dining, spa, and tourism activities with 50-50 government-citizen cost sharing. Visitors choosing major cities receive 1,500-baht coupons, while those selecting secondary destinations receive 2,000-baht coupons.
Registration runs October 1-25, 2025, via the Pao Tang app, with benefits starting November 1, 2025. The three-month program is split into two phases: November 1 to December 15, 2025, and January 16 to February 28, 2026, with a break during the high-season holiday period. The government allocated a budget of no more than 3,500 million baht, with each voucher worth a maximum of 3,500 baht in total support.
Economic projections estimate the program will generate 58,000 million baht in circulation, representing a 2.5-fold economic return on the government investment. Safeguards against fraud include requiring hotels to declare room rates at registration, with those raising prices more than 10% compared to the previous year ineligible to participate. Only licensed hotels or those properly paying taxes may join, with the Interior Ministry coordinating legal registration compliance.
