Thai Rock Stars Unite to Honor Legend Lam Morrison

Thailand's rock community gathered for a star-studded concert tribute to legendary guitarist Lam Morrison on the evening of September 16 at a Bangkok venue. The event, headlined by Ad Carabao, Olarn Prom Jai, Pong Hin Lek Fai, and Sek Loso, brought together renowned rock musicians spanning decades to celebrate the 82-year-old icon known as Thailand's Guitar King. All proceeds from ticket sales and fundraising went directly to support Morrison's medical care and health needs.
Ad Carabao premiered a new song titled "Nene Nai Nae Mak," dedicated to rising rock guitarist Nene Royal, with limited-edition t-shirts auctioning for up to 240,000 baht. The event also raised funds through generous donations, including 1 million baht contributed by the venue's CEO, which will support both Morrison's care and efforts to erect a statue honoring the guitarist on Pattaya's Walking Street.
The concert highlighted plans to create a monument celebrating Morrison's legendary status while he is still alive—a gesture organizers said would bestow the highest honor and allow the musician to witness the recognition of his contributions to Thailand's global reputation. A second major project unveiled at the event involved senior musicians rallying behind young rocker Nene Royal, with performances of her new song and two versions of a specially produced music video celebrating the next generation of Thai rock talent.
