As floodwaters begin to recede across several areas of Bangkok, Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF) continues its 'GULF Care' initiative, extending support to affected communities as they start the recovery process and rebuild their homes after the floods. As part of the ongoing relief effort, GULF provided cleaning supplies, other essential items, and common household medicines worth a total of one million baht to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) for distribution to flood‑affected residents. Mr. Sitamon Ratanavadi, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at GULF, represented the company at the handover, while Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, accepted the donation at the Department of Drainage and Sewerage, Bangkok City Hall 2 (Din Daeng).
Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said, 'Although the flood situation in many parts of Bangkok is beginning to ease, overall water levels remain close to capacity and the situation stays fragile, especially in the eastern part of the city where accumulated water persists and more continues to flow in. Bangkok can normally absorb about 60–70 millimetres of rainfall, but water levels in retention areas and canals are still high, so heavy rain of that magnitude could cause overflow and flood the streets faster than usual.'
'In many areas where floodwaters have receded, our priority is to speed up recovery. We are mobilising manpower and machinery from unaffected districts to support the hardest‑hit zones so we can restore the city quickly. This includes collecting garbage, cleaning, repairing roads, and providing health care for residents in every affected area, so everyone can return to normal life as soon as possible. I would like to thank all sectors that have come forward to support this relief effort.'
Mr. Sitamon Ratanavadi, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Gulf Development Public Company Limited, added, 'Throughout the recent flooding in Bangkok, GULF has closely monitored the situation and continuously extended support to affected communities through the 'GULF Care' initiative. GULF Volunteers, or 'GULF Asa', made up of employees from our head office and power plants across the group, joined forces to prepare 650 relief kits and 6,000 bottles of drinking water. We also supplied 16,000 freshly prepared meals to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration for distribution to affected communities across the city.'
'As floodwaters begin to recede, the post‑flood recovery period remains a critical time when people still need help, especially with cleaning their homes and safeguarding their health. For this reason, GULF has prepared cleaning supplies and other essential items, including common household medicines such as laundry detergent, floor brushes, cleaning cloths, garbage bags, rubber gloves, mosquito repellent lotion, skin treatment medication, paracetamol, anti‑diarrheal medicine, and oral rehydration salts.'
