Industrial Estate Authority Partners with GULF1 and GPSC on Solar Farm
IEAT, Gulf1, and GPSC have formed a joint venture to build a 17.5-megawatt solar farm on a silt pond in Map Ta Phut Industrial Port, advancing Thailand's green energy and carbon neutrality goals.
The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), Gulf1 Limited under Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF), and Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC) have signed a shareholder agreement to establish Reenergy Limited to develop a solar power generation project on a silt pond within the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port Development Project Phase 3. The partnership represents a leading public-private collaboration to drive green energy adoption, strengthen Thailand's industrial competitiveness, and support the nation's carbon neutrality and net-zero emissions targets. The signing ceremony was attended by executives from all three organizations, including IEAT Governor Sumet Tangsetsereekul, GPSC Chief Executive Officer Chansak Chunsom, Vorrapong Vivatsvanich, Director of Gulf1 and Executive Vice President of Project Management at GULF, and Amnuayporn Prakobnaprakhao, GULF1 Managing Director and Assistant Executive Vice President of Solar Energy Business at GULF. IEAT identified the potential to maximize the use of the silt pond area and, following a careful review and screening process, IEAT's Board approved its stake in the joint venture, leading to this formal collaboration among the three organizations to fully advance their clean energy mission. IEAT Governor Sumet Tangsetsereekul stated that IEAT is honored to partner with nationally recognized experts GULF1 and GPSC in establishing Reenergy Limited. Recognizing the importance of climate change and driven by national environmental policies, IEAT is committed to promoting alternative energy use in industrial estates. The collaboration represents a genuine synergy in developing the 92-rai silt pond area to maximum benefit, and IEAT believes Reenergy will serve as a model for utilizing land to produce and distribute clean energy while advancing Thai industry toward the new economy and generating sustainable returns. GPSC Chief Executive Officer Chansak Chunsom noted that the establishment of Reenergy Limited resulted from the cooperation and commitment of all parties in applying their expertise, experience, and knowledge to develop a 17.5-megawatt solar power plant.
