Heavy Rain Alert Issued For 41 Thai Provinces

The Thai Meteorological Department issued its ninth warning on September 25, 2569, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall across Thailand from September 25 to 27, 2569. A deepening low-pressure system moving from the eastern region into the central region and Bangkok, combined with a strengthening southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and southern Thailand, will bring widespread heavy downpours with extremely heavy rainfall in some areas.
The public is warned to be cautious of continuous heavy rainfall that could trigger flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in foothill and low-lying areas prone to repeated inundation. Travel through flood-prone routes should be avoided, especially low-lying zones at risk of temporary water accumulation. Sea conditions are expected to worsen, with waves 2-3 metres high in the upper Gulf and northern Andaman Sea, and over 3 metres during thunderstorms. The lower Gulf and southern Andaman Sea will see approximately 2-metre waves, rising above 2 metres during thunderstorms.
Fishermen in both sea zones should exercise caution and avoid thunderstorm areas. Small boats in the upper Gulf and northern Andaman Sea are advised not to leave shore until September 27, 2569. The public is encouraged to plan activities carefully and monitor updates from the Meteorological Department via the website tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24/7. The next warning will be issued on September 26, 2569, at 05:00.
Provinces forecast to experience very heavy rainfall on September 25 include Phetchabun in the north; Chaiyaphum, Buriram, and Nakhon Ratchasima in the northeast; Nakhon Sawan, Chai Nat, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Samut Sakhon, and Samut Songkhram in the central region, as well as Bangkok and surroundings; and Nakhon Nayok, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Sa Kaew, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat in the east; and Phetchaburi in the south. Provinces expecting heavy rainfall include numerous northern provinces, northeastern provinces, central provinces, and southern provinces including Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, and Surat Thani. On September 26, very heavy rainfall is forecast for Tak and Phetchabun in the north and several central provinces.
