Tourist Police Deploy Bicycle Patrols for IMF-World Bank 2026 Security
Tourist Police have deployed bicycle patrols in Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong-Siam district to boost security and mobility for the upcoming IMF‑World Bank Group Annual Meetings in October 2026. The patrols aim to reach tight spaces, assist the public and tourists, and project a safe, welcoming image of Thailand as host.
The Tourist Police Commander said bicycle units provide agile movement in dense urban areas, reaching spots inaccessible to cars, and enable close interaction with the public and tourists. The force is pursuing proactive operations, integrating personnel and technology under the motto ‘Safe, Smooth Travel, Minimal Impact on the Public’ to ensure safety and convenience during the meeting and to project a welcoming image of Thailand.
