Thailand Police Train Officers on Child Safety Online
Thailand's police launched a six-day training program in September 2026 to equip 88 officers nationwide with skills to combat online child sexual abuse, partnering with Interpol, France, and gaming platform Roblox.
Thailand's Human Trafficking Suppression Center, working with the French Embassy, Interpol, and Roblox, is strengthening the TICAC task force across the country to protect children from exploitation in all forms.
On September 15, 2026, the National Police Office's Human Trafficking Suppression Center opened a six-day training program running from September 14–19, 2026, to improve police effectiveness in combating online child sexual abuse. The program brought together 88 officers from TICAC units nationwide tasked with preventing and suppressing child exploitation. Speakers included Gordana Vujisic and Fabio Sicoli, criminal intelligence officers from Interpol; Sophie Bazard, Southeast Asia regional consultant on online child sexual abuse for the French Embassy; and Nikita Rae Wong, Law Enforcement Liaison Manager for Southeast Asia at Roblox.
Deputy Commander Setthanad Piyasomboon of the Technology Crime Investigation Division, speaking on behalf of Deputy National Police Commissioner Thatchai Pitanilabut, director of the Human Trafficking Suppression Center, explained that the training aligns with national policy to prevent and suppress human trafficking targeting children and youth. The TICAC task force handles online child sexual abuse cases, and figures show an upward trend: in 2026 alone, 229 cases have been arrested nationwide. Cooperation with Interpol and Roblox—a platform heavily used by children—provides critical expertise to protect Thailand's young people, the nation's future workforce.
