Two Gunmen Arrested After Shooting Palm Oil Worker Dead
A 29-year-old palm oil worker was shot dead on a plantation road in Surat Thani on September 15; police arrested the 31-year-old suspect and recovered the murder weapon used in what appears to be a personal dispute.
At 12:30 p.m. on September 15, 2026, Deputy Superintendent Somnuek Chimmee of Kian Sa Police Station received a report of a fatal shooting on a road within an oil palm plantation on Khao Ru Lane, Village 9, Ban Set Subdistrict, Kian Sa District, Surat Thani Province. He reported to Police Captain Yothin Sithiyotee, the station commander, and proceeded to investigate with a team of detectives, forensic officers, eight on-call doctors from Kian Sa Hospital, and Kian Sa rescue personnel.
At the scene, officers found the body of Natthawut Srirajanthorn, 29 years old, lying on his back wearing a floral t-shirt and black shorts. He was dead on the roadside with a gunshot wound to the right side of his chest. Approximately 10 meters away, a blue and gray Honda Wave 100S motorcycle with Surat Thani registration was found overturned at the roadside. Neighbors reported hearing three gunshots before the incident, though they did not investigate. The victim's wife stated he had left home to collect palm fruit.
Investigation identified the shooter as 31-year-old Jirasak. Police tracked and arrested him, recovering a black Smith & Wesson .38 caliber handgun used in the shooting. The initial cause is attributed to a personal dispute. The suspect was charged with premeditated murder, unlicensed possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying a firearm in a city, village, or public area without authorization and without proper justification.
