Jetsada Technical Museum Mourns Astrology Advisor Buanlab Lertlap, 98
Jetsada Technical Museum mourns the death of its astrology and feng shui advisor Buanlab Lertlap, who passed away at 98. He is remembered for his long service to the foundation and a famed prediction about Colonel Narong Kittikachorn linked to the 1973 political upheaval. Funeral chanting runs from October 7 to 9, with cremation on October 10 at Wat Sakorn Suen Prachasan in Bangkok.
The Jetsada Technical Museum Foundation announced the death of its astrology and feng shui consultant, Buanlab Lertlap, who passed away at the age of 98 on October 7, 2026. Born on June 19, 1928, Buanlab had served the foundation for many years, offering counsel and presiding over the laying of foundation stones for both the original and new Jetsada Technical Museum buildings, earning the deep respect of its executives and staff.
One of the anecdotes associated with him concerns his prediction that Colonel Narong Kittikachorn would encounter misfortune. At the time the forecast seemed implausible, given Narong’s lineage as the son of Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn and son‑in‑law of Field Marshal Praphas Charusathien, powerful political figures of the era. After the October 14, 1973 uprising, Narong fled the country together with Thanom and Praphas, and the episode was later linked to Buanlab’s prophecy, boosting his reputation as an astrologer.
Buanlab’s connection to the museum was further highlighted by Dr. Phakphum Desakulsarit, a museum board member who became his disciple after completing his master’s studies and continued to revere him as a teacher. His passing is described as a great loss, likened to the museum losing a spiritual pillar.
Funeral rites will be held at Sala 5, Wat Sakorn Suen Prachasan, Lad Phrao, Bangkok. Chanting will take place from October 7 to 9 at 6:00 p.m., followed by the cremation ceremony on October 10 at 3:00 p.m. The museum’s management and staff extend their deepest condolences to the family and pledge to carry forward Buanlab’s teachings, kindness, and blessings in their ongoing work.
