Man Arrested With 201 Methamphetamine Pills At Bangkok Checkpoint
A 35-year-old man was arrested at a Bangkok checkpoint with 201 methamphetamine pills and crystal meth hidden in his pocket; a urine test confirmed drug use.
On August 14, 2569, officers from the Central Traffic Police Division 5, led by Pol. Col. Nattasit Sanprapob, apprehended Wichai, 35 years old, at an alcohol checkpoint and vehicle emission test station near Ladprao Post Office on Ladprao Road, Saphansong Subdistrict, Wangthonglang District, Bangkok. Police seized 201 methamphetamine pills, one bag of crystal methamphetamine, and a blue Yamaha R15 motorcycle with Rayong license plates.
When the checkpoint staff signaled the rider to slow down for inspection, officers observed suspicious and nervous behavior from the suspect. After requesting permission to search, police discovered the drugs hidden in his trouser pocket. During questioning, Wichai admitted the drugs were his own and that he had used methamphetamine before the checkpoint. A urine test also confirmed the presence of drugs in his system.
Police initially charged him with possession of methamphetamine for distribution, drug use, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. He was taken to Chokchai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
