MP Urges Investigation of Dark Capital Buying Flood-Control Land
MP Boonrawi Yomjinda alleges that shadowy investors using Thai nominees are buying up large tracts of land in Rayong, Chonburi, Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani that could serve as flood‑control ‘monkey cheek’ areas but are instead being used to illegally bury electronic waste. He calls on the government to urgently investigate land ownership, waste management and the potential for flood mitigation. The claims involve plans to dig deep pits, fill them with hazardous waste and construct factories on top.
On October 7, 2026, Boonrawi Yomjinda said that numerous citizens have informed the Ruam Jai Thai Party that shadowy capital is rushing to buy land in several provinces. He noted that land sold in many locations could be turned into monkey‑cheek projects to ease flooding, but instead is being used as sites for illegal electronic‑waste dumping. In Rayong, for example, reports indicate that Thai nominees acting for the shadowy groups have purchased plots of 50 to 100 rai, dug pits about 50 metres deep, filled them with electronic waste, covered them over, and built factories on top. Boonrawi urged the government to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into land ownership, the origin and management of waste, and environmental risks, warning that failure to act would burden the public with flooding and pollution.
