National Disaster Center Warns of Flooding Across Thai Provinces
The National Disaster Warning Center has issued a flood alert for multiple provinces across central and eastern Thailand, including Bangkok. Eight provinces are facing high sea levels at river mouths and coastal areas, while many others report river overflow and standing water. The warning was announced on October 2, 2068 BE at 08:00.
The National Disaster Warning Center announced the list of provinces affected by sudden flooding and overflowing waters, noting that eight provinces are experiencing elevated sea levels at river mouths and low-lying coastal zones. Issued on October 2, 2068 BE at 08:00 by the National Disaster Warning Center under the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, the alert reported river overflow and standing water in the following provinces: Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Prachin Buri, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Samut Prakan, and Bangkok. Further areas with river overflow and flooding include: Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya (again), Nakhon Nayok, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Phetchaburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Bangkok once more. Provinces experiencing high sea levels at river mouths and coastal lowlands are: Chachoengsao, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Samut Prakan, and Bangkok.
