Naval Water-Pushing Boats Speed Flood Drainage in Chachoengsao
The Royal Thai Navy has deployed 30 water‑pumping boats to speed flood drainage from Chachoengsao Province into the Gulf of Thailand, saying they can move over three million cubic metres of water per day. Floodwaters remain high with no sign of receding, affecting many low‑lying riverside and agricultural communities. The boats are positioned at three points along the Bang Pakong River to push water toward the gulf.
The Royal Thai Navy installed 30 water‑pushing boats to speed flood drainage from Chachoengsao into the Gulf of Thailand, noting each boat can move 100,000 cubic metres per day, for a total of over three million cubic metres daily. Dated 8 October 2026, flooding in Chachoengsao Province remains high with no sign of dropping, impacting residents in many areas, especially low‑lying riverside zones and farmland. Latest reports show reporters monitoring drainage on the Bang Pakong River found the navy had brought in the 30 boats to enhance water flow and push the volume toward the gulf. The 30 boats are divided into three sites: ten at the bridge in front of the Bang Pakong retention dam in Bang Kaew subdistrict, Mueang Chachoengsao district; ten at the 72‑Year Anniversary Bridge in Na Mueang subdistrict, same district, moving water from the retention dam toward Ban Pho and Bang Pakong areas; and ten at the motorway bridge in Tha Sa Wan subdistrict, Bang Pakong district, to push all Bang Pakong River water into the gulf at Song Khon subdistrict.
