Burapha Uni Student Killed in Car-Motorcycle Crash, Driver Flees
A car hit and killed a Burapha University student in Chonburi before the driver fled, leaving his wife and child in the vehicle. The crash was captured on CCTV and shared online, sparking rumors that the driver may be a police officer. Authorities have yet to confirm the driver's identity or any police affiliation.
The incident occurred in Saensuk Subdistrict, Mueang Chonburi, Chonburi Province. Burapha University later posted a message of condolence for the deceased student, Natthaphach, from the Faculty of Sports Science. Online speculation in Chonburi claimed the driver was a police officer. A witness, a 41‑year‑old woman identified only as Ms. A, told reporters she heard a loud bang, saw the car and motorcycle collide, observed the driver get out with his family in the car, then walk away into an alley. Local residents noted the alley is narrow and speeding vehicles often cause accidents there. Reporters visited Saensuk Police Station to investigate the claim that the driver is a police officer, but the station chief was unavailable, so no official confirmation has been made.
