Udon Thani Industrial Park to Open 2027, Create 1,000 Jobs
Udon Thani’s industrial park is set to open in early 2027, promising over 1,000 new jobs by linking agricultural processing with border trade and rail logistics. Officials inspected progress on October 7, 2026, highlighting smart‑building facilities, a one‑stop service centre, and a rail‑linked logistics hub. The project aims to boost local incomes, add value to farm products, and position the province as a trade hub for the upper Northeast.
Udon Thani is pushing forward with its industrial park to host new factories scheduled to begin operation in early 2027. The development will connect rail transport and government services in a single location, aiming to generate more than 1,000 jobs, raise local incomes, and increase the value of agricultural products for residents. After investors secured land and began constructing factories, the park plans to launch operations at the start of 2027, preparing to hire over 1,000 workers and tie new investment to career and income opportunities for the public.
On October 7, 2026, Governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum, Deputy Governor Natthapong Kammongpin, and a team of provincial agencies, private sector representatives, the Udon Thani Chamber of Commerce, and related bodies visited the site to monitor progress on infrastructure, business support services, and factory construction. They were welcomed by Suwit Pipatwilaikul, president of Muang Nikom Udon Thani Industrial Company Limited, along with Vice President Arporn Pipatwilaikul and Managing Director Pisit Pipatwilaikul. The Udon Thani Provincial Trade Office also joined the visit to help link trade and investment opportunities for the province.
A key direction for the park is to accommodate factories that process agricultural products from Udon Thani and neighboring provinces, boosting the value of farm goods and expanding business opportunities for farmers, while developing the province into a border‑trade and distribution centre for the upper Northeast. Connecting agriculture with industry and transport will broaden the benefits of investment, reaching raw material producers, entrepreneurs, and local workers, and lay the foundation for Udon Thani to grow from a transit town into a stronger regional economic player.
For business support, the park has built smart office buildings under a Smart Building concept to house a One Stop Service (OSS) centre, consolidating approvals and permits in one place to simplify interactions with relevant agencies. Inside the building are meeting and seminar rooms, banking services, restaurants, and a post office to support business operations.
Another important component is the logistics centre located in the inland container depot (ICD) area, already linked to the railway and featuring a large warehouse that hosts the customs cargo yard, facilitating transport and distribution of goods to domestic and international markets. This area will also host a full‑service border‑trade and cross‑border OSS for Udon Thani province, integrating six agencies: the Provincial Trade Office, Udon Thani Animal Quarantine Station, Nong Khai Plant Inspection Station, Fisheries Inspection Management Centre Zone 2 (Nong Khai), Nong Khai Food and Drug Administration, and Nong Khai Customs Office. Together they cover trade, goods inspection, and customs procedures.
For factories still under construction, the plan to begin operations and hire more than 1,000 workers in early 2027 will be a major step toward job creation and income generation, linking industrial investment with the provincial economy. The overall goals of the Udon Thani Industrial Park initiative are to attract investment, increase the value of agricultural output, and spread economic opportunities to the community through ongoing infrastructure development.
