Navy Completes Training for 2,899 New Recruits
Nearly 2,900 recruits completed eight weeks of intensive training at Thailand's Navy Recruit Training Center and will be assigned to naval units starting October 1st.
The Royal Thai Navy's Recruit Training Center held a closing parade ceremony for the Public Education Batch 2/69 of new recruits on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Deputy Commander Chakrapong Asanok of the Naval Warfare Education Department presided over the event at the training center's parade ground.
The ceremony featured 2,899 recruits organized into four battalions (20 companies) and one running company, demonstrating discipline, strength, and cohesion as a result of eight weeks of rigorous training. The recruits displayed excellent military bearing and have been physically and mentally transformed from civilians into strong, accomplished naval personnel—a foundation for effective service in the Royal Thai Navy.
The Navy assigned the Recruit Training Center to conduct the training program starting August 1, 2026, to equip recruits with fundamental naval military knowledge and instill love for the nation, religion, and monarchy. Training has now concluded, with recruits scheduled for assignment to various Navy units on October 1, 2026.
