New Sacred Amulet Collection Honors Luang Pu Thin
A new collection of sacred amulets honoring the venerable 109-year-old monk Luang Pu Thin has been created using powder from revered Phra That Phanom shrine, with only 60 limited lottery batches available across multiple designs.
Phra That Phanom, a sacred shrine cherished by Thai and Laotian Buddhists across the Mekong, is enshrined at Phra That Phanom Woramahaviharn Temple in That Phanom District, Nakhon Phanom Province. Devoted followers led by the Dragon Prosperity Fortune team have obtained approval to create commemorative amulets featuring powder from Somdet Chin Banchon in the Million-Elephant form. The amulets are designed to honor the tradition established at Kon Saai Temple in Leung Nok Ta District, Yasothon Province, where Luang Pu Thin Chandrathammo, 109, resides. The amulets are produced in three-layer and nine-layer forms across four designs, with only 60 limited lottery batches ranging from 250 to 1,000 pieces each.
The amulet's design features the wheel imprint from 11 miniature Phra That Phanom images created for Kon Saai Temple. The front bears three and nine-layer impressions of Somdet with silver Takrut charms, among the finest amulets of northeast Thailand. The reverse displays Phra That Phanom paired with the seven-headed Naga King, with its tail coiled around the stupa. The powder composition includes Phra That Phanom brick, sacred Buddhist ash, and auspicious herbal powder.
The consecration ceremony took place at Phra That Phanom Woramahaviharn Temple before the Naga King image, with Orkhanya Sabpha, known as Madame Noi, a senator from Mukdahan, serving as lay leader. A Brahmin ceremony followed, conducted by renowned Brahmin Ot Khemnak to bless the sacred objects, celestial guardians, and the seven Nagas protecting Phra That Phanom. On July 19, 2025, at 12:49 p.m., the Buddhist consecration ceremony began, with Luang Pu Thin presiding over the monks chanting sacred mantras. Notable northeast teachers participated, including Phra Thepvachiryana Sunthorn, Luang Pu Thin, and other senior monks seated in meditative prayer.
