Nong Nooch World Pattaya Renews Nine Prayer Flags For Safety
Nong Nooch World Pattaya in Chonburi held a ceremony on October 10, 2069 to replace nine Himalayan-style prayer flags, praying for safety from natural disasters. Led by President Kumphon Tansajja and nine monks, the ritual included blessing the flags with powder, gold leaf, and holy water. The event aimed to preserve cultural traditions while expressing solidarity with those affected by recent natural hazards.
The ceremony took place at Nong Nooch World Pattaya’s garden in Chonburi on the morning of October 10, 2069. Nine prayer flags were changed to continue the Buddhist prayer‑flag tradition of the Himalayan regions of Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan, with the hope that the wind would carry prayers, compassion and good wishes to all living beings. Nine monks, headed by Phra Kru Kasem Kitsophon, performed the blessing rites, applying powder, gold leaf and holy water to each flag for auspiciousness. The flags feature five colours — blue, white, red, green and yellow — which in some traditions represent the natural elements of water, metal, fire, wood and earth, reflecting the balance of nature. President Kumphon Tansajja said the ceremony was also an opportunity to pray for safety amid recent natural disasters, to encourage preparedness, and to wish everyone happiness and protection. He noted that Nong Nooch World Pattaya maintains its drainage systems in harmony with nature and prioritizes tourist safety while preserving cultural heritage.
