Nonthaburi Governor Declares Flood Disaster Area in Two Districts
Heavy rainfall and rising Chao Phraya River levels prompted Nonthaburi's governor to declare two districts—Muang Nonthaburi and Pak Kret—as flood disaster zones, enabling relief and recovery efforts across affected communities.
Nonthaburi Province Governor Chettha Molikrat has officially declared two districts—Muang Nonthaburi and Pak Kret—as flood disaster zones following persistent heavy rainfall and high Chao Phraya River levels that have flooded homes and caused widespread damage.
Governor Molikrat, acting as the provincial disaster management director, signed two separate proclamations under the provincial disaster prevention and mitigation command. The first declaration (Notice 39/2569) covers Muang Nonthaburi district, where severe flooding occurred on September 25, 2569, affecting residential areas in Suan Yai, Bang Khen, Bang Krasoap, Talad Kwan, and Tha Thray subdistricts within Nonthaburi Municipality. The flooding has endangered lives and caused damage to both private and public property.
The second declaration (Notice 40/2569) covers Pak Kret district, where flooding similarly affected residential communities in Pak Kret, Bang Pud, Bang Talat, Khlong Khleua, and Ban Mai subdistricts within Pak Kret Municipality, also causing public harm and property damage.
The official disaster declarations enable government agencies, local organizations, and the private sector to implement relief and mitigation efforts under the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act of 2007 and related national and provincial disaster management plans.
