SRT Suspends Eastern Train Lines Due To Flooding
Heavy rain has forced the State Railway of Thailand to suspend services on six sections of the eastern railway line, with 10 additional trains cancelled as flooding makes tracks unsafe for travel.
BANGKOK — 27 September 2026, The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has temporarily suspended train services on parts of the eastern railway line after continuous heavy rain caused widespread flooding along railway tracks.
The SRT announced the disruption on 27 September 2026, saying several sections were too flooded for trains to pass safely.
The temporarily closed sections are:
- Ban Kaeng–Sa Kaeo - Aranyaprathet–Watthana Nakhon - PTT area–Bangchak Oil Refinery line - Kabin Buri–Ban Dong Bang - Prachantakham–Prachin Buri - Khlong Tan–Hua Mak
The SRT said it was coordinating with relevant agencies and closely monitoring rainfall and water levels while inspecting the tracks and adjusting train operations.
A further 10 train services have been suspended in addition to services affected the previous day.
Outbound services:
- Train No. 275: Bangkok (Hua Lamphong)–Ban Khlong Luk - Train No. 283: Bangkok (Hua Lamphong)–Chuk Samet - Train No. 281: Bangkok (Hua Lamphong)–Kabin Buri - Excursion Train No. 997: Bangkok (Hua Lamphong)–Chuk Samet
Inbound services:
- Train No. 276: Ban Khlong Luk–Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) - Train No. 284: Chuk Samet–Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) - Train No. 282: Kabin Buri–Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) - Train No. 280: Ban Khlong Luk–Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) - Train No. 278: Kabin Buri–Bangkok (Hua Lamphong) - Special Passenger Train No. 998: Chuk Samet–Bangkok (Hua Lamphong)
Railway stations will inform passengers about alternative travel options. Passengers may use the Airport Rail Link or public buses, depending on their destinations.
The SRT said it would assess track conditions and safety before deciding when to reopen the affected sections.
Passengers are advised to check the latest service information at https://ttsview.railway.co.th or call the SRT customer service center at 1690, available 24 hours a day.
Passengers who have advance tickets for Special Passenger Trains 997 and 998 but no longer wish to travel can request a full refund at ticket counters at railway stations nationwide.
