Thai Railways Suspend Eastern Line Services Due to Flooding
Thai Railways suspended Eastern Line services on September 27 due to heavy rain and track flooding across multiple route segments, canceling ten trains and offering refunds for affected passengers.
Thai Railways announced a temporary suspension of Eastern Line services on September 27 after continuous heavy rain caused widespread track flooding that prevented trains from passing certain sections. The closure was implemented for passenger safety. Affected route segments include Ban Kaeng to Saraeng stations, Aranyaprathet to Watthananakorn, the PTT area to Bang Chak refinery siding, Kabinburi to Ban Dong Bang, Prachantakham to Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Khlong Toei to Huamark stations.
The railway is coordinating with relevant agencies and closely monitoring conditions to assess track safety and adjust operations accordingly. Ten additional train services have been cancelled: outbound services include Ordinary Trains 275, 283, and 281 from Bangkok (Hua Lampong) and Tour Train 997; return services include Ordinary Trains 276, 284, 282, 280, and 278, plus Special Passenger Train 998. Passengers are advised to check updates at https://ttsview.railway.co.th and can use Airport Rail Link or intercity buses as alternatives.
Railway stations will inform passengers of route changes. Those with advance tickets for suspended tours (Trains 997/998) can request full refunds at any station ticket counter nationwide, or call the customer service center at 1690 for 24-hour assistance. Thai Railways apologized for the inconvenience and pledged to resume normal operations once safety conditions permit.
