Officials Warn of Giant Crocodile Near Chachoengsao
Authorities in Chachoengsao province issued an urgent warning after a crocodile over two meters long was seen beside a water‑delivery canal in Bang Phaneang village. The animal poses a risk to fishermen and residents who rely on the sole accessible road in the flooded area. Officials are coordinating an inspection and asking the media to spread the alert.
On October 1, 2026, Udorn Thepphawat, former president of the Chachoengsao Provincial Administrative Organization, posted an urgent warning on his personal Facebook page after residents reported seeing a massive crocodile over two meters long on the shoulder of a water‑delivery canal in Village 2, Bang Phaneang, Khu Yai Mi sub‑district, Sanam Chai Khet district. He expressed concern for fishermen and travelers who rely on the single usable road that runs alongside the canal, and asked the media to help spread the alert while he coordinates with relevant agencies for an inspection. The crocodile was spotted on a detour road that leads to three flooded sub‑districts — Tha Kraban, Khu Yai Mi, and Thung Phraya — that are currently surrounded by water. Further developments will be reported later.
