Chachoengsao — On 1 October 2026, a giant crocodile over two metres long was reportedly spotted along an irrigation‑canal road in Bang Phaniang village, Moo 2, Khu Yai Mi subdistrict, Sanam Chai Khet district, prompting an urgent warning to local residents.

On the morning of 1 October, Udon Thepwathee, former president of the Chachoengsao Provincial Administrative Organisation Council, posted a warning on his personal Facebook account after residents reported seeing the large crocodile beside the canal.

Udon urged people, especially those fishing in the area, to exercise extreme caution, noting the crocodile could pose a danger to anyone using the road. He also asked local media to help spread the warning while relevant authorities were contacted to inspect the site.

The road where the crocodile was seen is a detour currently used to reach three flood‑surrounded subdistricts — Tha Kradan, Khu Yai Mi and Thung Phraya.
