Olympic Bronze Medallist Lek Defends Thai Curling Mixed Doubles Title
Olympic bronze medalist Lek Chanatheep Sornkham successfully defended her mixed doubles curling title at Thailand's national championship, while actress Ying Kanya Natcharongrong led the women's team to victory.
Lek Chanatheep Sornkham, Thailand's former Olympic bronze medalist in taekwondo, has successfully defended her mixed doubles curling championship title. The Thai Curling Sports Association held the Thai Curling Championship with Dr. Suwan Silparatcha, the association's president, in attendance to present awards.
The highlight of the competition was Lek Chanatheep Sornkham's continued participation and successful defense of her mixed doubles title alongside partner Phan Theerkawin Jiarntheerravit, competing against eight teams in that category.
In the women's team event with three competing teams, actress and host Ying Kanya Natcharongrong led her team to victory, with teammates Wannavisakh Panyaneramit, Supakarn Kaewmorakot, Nattathida Kampheerkit, and Pichyanathida Chaotrap taking the podium.
The men's team competition featured four teams, with a youth team creating a surprise victory led by Payut Wongwinyutkhan, Pawit Wongwinyutkhan, Thakorn Jinapong, Thanadon Chuachuawong, and Theerawee Jitcharoenrug.
The championship was held to develop and elevate the potential of Thai curling athletes toward international standards.
