Actress Aom Hosts Health Awareness Drive on Diabetes Prevention
Actress Aom launches a diabetes prevention awareness campaign at Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital, featuring medical experts and practical health advice on diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes to address Thailand's rising diabetes crisis.
Actress Aom Atitchanat is launching a health awareness initiative called "Good Health Great Heart" at Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital, with the theme "Understand, Build Immunity, Reduce Diabetes Risk." The event aims to make health information accessible and applicable to daily life. Diabetes remains a major public health challenge in Thailand, with the International Diabetes Federation reporting that 6.36 million Thai adults have the condition, accounting for 10.2 percent of the adult population. This demonstrates the critical importance of early health education and lifestyle modification.
The centerpiece is a special talk covering practical health topics including food choices, exercise, rest, and behavioral adjustments to reduce diabetes risk factors. The program features medical experts including Dr. Aphichanya and Dr. Wanchai, along with guest speakers Aom Atitchanat, Professor Yingsak Jonglertsajjadavong, and actress Tukta Ubonwan, with Kay Pongkasem Satayaprasert as host.
Dr. Aom Atitchanat stated: "We organized this event to make health knowledge more accessible to Thais. Health care should start with understanding and be sustained continuously. We want everyone to take the knowledge from doctors and the experiences of our guests and adapt it to their own lives." Professor Yingsak emphasized that "food directly affects health, and self-care doesn't need to be complicated—simply choosing foods wisely, reducing sugar, fat, and salt, and eating appropriate portions can significantly reduce the risk of diabetes and other chronic diseases." Actress Tukta added: "Effective exercise doesn't have to be intense, but should suit your body and be done consistently. When diet, rest, and exercise are balanced together, health and quality of life improve noticeably."
