Opposition Party to Propose Urgent Motion on Flooding Crisis

The Pheu Thai Party is set to submit an urgent motion and question the government on the flooding crisis, while simultaneously organizing teams to assist affected residents. On September 29, 2025, Prithyaphan Wattrachasindhu, a party-list MP and deputy leader of Pheu Thai and chairman of the opposition coalition coordination committee in parliament, outlined the party's response during the current flooding emergency. With parliament scheduled to meet from September 30 to October 2, while many regions continue facing flooding or remain under close alert, Pheu Thai MPs will balance parliamentary duties with coordinated relief efforts and distribution of assistance to affected communities nationwide. Prithyaphan explained that beyond regular legislative business, Pheu Thai intends to use two key parliamentary mechanisms to propose solutions to the government. First, an urgent motion on September 30 will present field-documented problems and systematic recommendations compiled by party leaders and teams from affected areas. Second, a question to the government on October 1 will seek clarity on the effectiveness of early warning systems, emergency response coordination between agencies, and strategies for post-flood area recovery. "Pheu Thai confirms we are ready to employ all mechanisms and cooperate fully with all sectors to urgently address the problem and relieve the suffering of the Thai people from this flooding crisis," Prithyaphan said.
