Phuket Authorities Halt Celebrity Pool Villa Project Over Permit Violations
Phuket's Mai Khao SAO issued seven administrative orders halting construction on a pool villa project tied to celebrity Bum Panadda Wongpudee. One building had an expired permit, while the other had never obtained one. The property owner has 30 days to reapply for proper permits, while allegations of signature forgery in the original application remain under investigation.
Phuket's Mai Khao Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) has posted seven administrative orders at a pool villa construction site in Baan Dan Yid, Village 3, Mai Khao Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket. The permit applicant is listed as Bum Panadda Wongpudee, who has faced public scrutiny over suspected signature forgery in the permit documents.
Officials categorized the orders by building status. For Building 1, which had a valid permit that has since expired, four orders were issued: a notice for failure to renew the permit after expiry (Order Kor.2), a construction suspension order due to the expired permit (Order Kor.3), a prohibition on using or entering the building (Order Kor.4), and a directive to reapply for a proper permit within 30 days (Order Kor.5).
For Building 2, which never received a construction permit, three orders were posted: a construction suspension order for building without a permit (Order Kor.3), a prohibition on use or entry (Order Kor.4), and a directive to apply for a construction permit within 30 days (Order Kor.5).
The SAO stated that posting all seven orders serves to formally notify the property owner of the violations, covering both the expired permit and the complete lack of a permit. The owner must comply within the specified timeframes. However, questions regarding the alleged signature forgery in the permit application and the facts surrounding the parties involved remain under investigation by relevant agencies.
