At 1:15 PM on October 28, 2026 at Government House, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul gave an interview after images surfaced of him speaking with Karndee Leibpiron, a party-list MP for the Democrat Party, during a House of Representatives session. Asked if he needed to clear the air, Anutin said there was nothing to clarify — each person was just doing their job.
When questioned whether they discussed the "stupid, useless, evil" slogan used in the no-confidence debate, Anutin laughed and said the matter was not worth asking or answering, adding he does not think about such things. He noted it was unfortunate the debate did not proceed this week, which would have allowed the government to move on to other business. However, since the opposition refused to debate this week, the fault lies not with the government — the opposition walked out of the three-party whip meeting, not the government.
Anutin said the government has sought available dates and informed the House Speaker that from December 6 onward they are ready. Now it depends on when the whip meeting reconvenes and the Speaker's decision. November is completely unavailable; even if there were gaps, they would not provide four consecutive days plus one extra day required.
Regarding the second week of December having several holidays, Anutin said if the opposition says Saturday and Sunday are fine, the government has no problem — this is a show of respect for Parliament and the opposition. On compensatory holidays, if the opposition is ready, the government is ready to attend and respond. He stressed the government has shown full respect, but executive duties remain. All 18 ministers have confirmed they are in Thailand and cancelled duties to be available for debate this week, pushing those commitments to November — which cannot be delayed further.
In November, both the Prime Minister and ministers are abroad for much of the month, so the earliest possible window is December 6 onward, leaving only six weeks from now.
