PM Speeds Drainage in Prachinburi, Chachoengsao; Relief Hits 11,000
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the flood situation is improving and pledged to speed up drainage in Prachinburi and Chachoengsao provinces. He noted that the Floravilla village in Bangkok’s Nong Chok district remains heavily affected, with relief payments already distributed to 11,000 families. Authorities are also preparing post‑flood clean‑up to remove debris blocking roads and homes.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told reporters after a National Disaster Prevention and Command Centre meeting that flood drainage is progressing well overall, though heavy water remains in the same spots, especially Floravilla village in Nong Chok, Bangkok. He said forces are being reinforced to support Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, while drainage efforts in Prachinburi and Chachoengsao are being accelerated. Regarding post‑flood clean‑up, Anutin said teams will quickly transport garbage and debris to landfills to keep residential exits and traffic routes clear. He confirmed that the overall situation is described as improving, with rainfall lower than expected and provincial preparations deemed sufficient. Relief payments are being rolled out, with about 11,000 families already receiving aid after eligibility checks. Anutin added that draining Prachinburi could take roughly another month, according to the National Water Resources Office, but the government will do everything possible to speed the process.
