Government spokesman Ekkaphop Pirapitakset announced on September 18 that Prime Minister Anuthín Charnveerakul will attend the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York from September 20–27, followed by visits to Japan and the United Kingdom. The trip represents a key opportunity for Thailand to showcase its position to the global community and meet with foreign leaders, private sector representatives, and investors from the United States and the UK, as well as leading technology companies.
During the UN meetings, the Prime Minister will present Thailand's role as a medium- and small-sized nation driving international cooperation and addressing global change. He is scheduled to meet with leaders from Bhutan, Armenia, and Bangladesh, as well as the UN Secretary-General. He will also visit the New York Stock Exchange to ring the opening bell and meet with its executives.
In Japan, the PM will hold talks with government and business leaders to advance Thailand-friendly policies. During his UK visit, he will meet with major financial institutions to expand economic, trade, and investment cooperation, with particular focus on promoting Thailand's capital market.
The Prime Minister has also been invited to visit Google headquarters to present Thailand's potential and opportunities in digital industry investment. Asadej Kongsiri, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, who is traveling with the delegation, revealed that Thai and international partners will use the visit to arrange meetings between the PM and major investors and institutions in New York and London, including Bank of America, Jefferies Group, and UBS.
"This mission combines international conference participation with diplomatic messaging and economic promotion," the spokesman said. "We aim to build confidence, open business opportunities, and attract foreign investment for Thailand's long-term economic benefit."
