Police in Sattahip, Chonburi, arrested 68‑year‑old fortune teller Sananit after uncovering a stall selling foreign cigarettes without tax stamps at a local temple fair. A search of the stall revealed 191 packs of the illicit cigarettes. Sananit told officers he bought the cigarettes online for roughly 20 baht per pack and sold them for 45 baht each. He was taken into custody with the evidence and handed over to investigators for prosecution. Police Lieutenant Colonel Kriangkri Meesaeng explained that the operation followed numerous complaints from villagers and market sellers about the illegal sales, especially to young people, prompting an undercover purchase that led to the arrest and seizure of the cigarettes.
