Police Arrest Two Women Over Laughing Gas Factory in Bangkok
Police arrested two women after uncovering a laughing gas factory that supplied balloons and canisters to popular pubs on Khao San Road. Officers seized more than 50,000 items, including nitrous oxide tanks and whipped‑cream chargers, during a raid on October 10, 2026. The suspects face charges of illegally producing and distributing a controlled substance and have been remanded to Klongtan Police Station.
Officers from the Investigation Division ordered Pol. Lt. Jakree Naripol and his team to arrest Ms. Phattharada (surname withheld), 25, and Ms. Thidaratt (surname withheld), 29, after finding 90 three‑liter nitrous oxide tanks, 38 small whipped‑cream chargers (250 mL), 32 large chargers (500 mL), approximately 27,000 balloons, 8,280 Mosa‑23 gas cartridges, 4,320 original Quick Whip cartridges, and 26,640 standard Quick Whip cartridges, plus a computer set. The suspects were apprehended in a building in Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana district, Bangkok. Police said the business ostensibly sold earthenware, glassware and kitchenware but was secretly distributing large quantities of laughing gas. The women face charges of producing, selling, importing or ordering modern medicine without a licence, and have been transferred to Klongtan Police Station for further proceedings.
