Thai Minister Deploys Boats, Pumps to Aid Eastern Flood Victims
Minister Suthichai Chomonlin said the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is continuing flood‑relief operations in the eastern provinces of Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao and Prachin Buri, deploying boats, pumps, personnel and supplies. Officials reported that marine‑resources staff used flat‑bottom boats to deliver aid in Chachoengsao, while in Prachin Buri they coordinated with forestry and water‑resources units to sandbag, operate pumps and distribute bio‑fertilizer. The minister stressed an integrated “One Tos” approach to assist residents and prepare for recovery once waters recede.
Minister Suthichai Chomonlin said the ministry will keep coordinating all its units at full strength, monitoring conditions and matching assistance to local needs, with priority on draining water, alleviating stagnant floodwater, and caring for affected people while preparing for post‑flood rehabilitation. In Chachoengsao, the Marine and Coastal Resources Office, Section 2, deployed a flat‑bottom marine resources boat (number 02) with crew to Bang Kla district, where they transported relief goods, distributed drinking water and necessities, and stood ready to provide further boat and personnel support until the situation improves. In Prachin Buri, the provincial Natural Resources and Environment Office worked with the Forestry and Water Resources Departments to mobilize 64 staff members who filled sandbags at the new transport‑hub shelter, moved them to build water‑barriers, and used a six‑wheel truck and three pickup trucks to support pumping operations. They also positioned two 12‑inch pump units at two sites in Prachin Buri municipality, supplied 200 liters of bio‑fertilizer to combat stagnant water in government offices and communities, and the Water Resources Office 6 installed additional pumps in the municipalities of Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, and Ongkharak in Nakhon Nayok to boost drainage. The minister affirmed that the work reflects the “One Tos, All Departments Help, No One Left Behind” policy and pledged continued support of personnel and resources.
