Minister Mobilizes Marine Department to Aid Eastern Flood Victims

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchat Chomklin expressed concern on September 27 for residents affected by flooding across Thailand, particularly in the eastern region. On September 26, he visited Mani Kaew village in Muang Chachoengsao district alongside Chachoengsao Governor Narisa Naramaiwoungse and officials from multiple agencies to provide assistance and relief supplies to flood-affected residents. Heavy overnight rain had breached water barriers, causing flooding in the area. The minister's team distributed over 200 survival kits and drinking water packages as immediate relief, with plans to deliver additional supplies as needed.

Given the widespread impact across multiple areas, Minister Chomklin ordered the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources to mobilize staff, vessels, and necessary equipment while coordinating with relevant agencies to urgently support flood victims and ease public distress. Dr. Pinsuk Surasawadee, director of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, assigned the department's regional offices to accelerate rescue operations across Chachoengsao, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces. The department deployed one marine vessel and three rubber boats with personnel, life jackets, and equipment to assist residents in the eastern provinces, coordinating closely with relevant agencies to provide immediate aid when requested.

Minister Chomklin emphasized the importance of prioritizing public and worker safety, closely monitoring the situation, and maintaining coordination with local agencies for swift and effective assistance, especially for vulnerable populations in remote areas. The government reaffirmed its commitment to provide full-scale relief and reassure residents that they will not be abandoned during this crisis. The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources sent encouragement to all flood victims, wishing them safety and strength to overcome this situation together.
