Police in Prachinburi seized 1,824 illegal e-cigarettes worth nearly 1 million baht after locals reported suspicious garbage bags dumped on a roadside. The contraband, popular brands targeting teenagers, was likely abandoned by smugglers avoiding a checkpoint or waiting for distribution. Authorities are investigating the smuggling network using CCTV footage.

Locals grew suspicious after 11 black garbage bags were dumped along the roadside and reported it to police. On November 4, 2026, officers from the Raboe Phai Police Station inspected the area in Moo 8, Ban Pruewai, Nong Phrong Subdistrict, Si Maha Phot District, Prachinburi Province, following a tip from Kamnan Saichon Suphanni and Village Headman Sayan Chotiwong. Upon opening all the bags, police found a large quantity of popular e-cigarette brands favored by teenagers, totaling 1,824 units with a street value of nearly 1 million baht. No one came forward to claim the goods. Police believe an illegal e-cigarette smuggling network either encountered a checkpoint while transporting the contraband or dumped it temporarily for dealers to collect later. All items were seized and handed to investigators at Raboe Phai Police Station for evidence logging. Police are now reviewing CCTV footage along access routes to identify and pursue those involved.

Election Commission Asks Constitutional Court to Limit Supreme Court in Senate Case

The Election Commission voted 5-2 to ask the Constitutional Court to rule on whether the Supreme Court has authority to review Senate candidate qualifications, a move critics call an attempt to block scrutiny of five senators including two from Amnaj Charoen suspected of registering in the wrong occupational group. The decision could have wider implications for previous EC rulings that dismissed complaints against Bhumjaithai Party figures, raising questions about institutional independence and public trust in the oversight system.
