Prime Minister Confirms Discussion on Southern Border with Army Chief
The Prime Minister met with the Army Chief of Staff and Senate Vice Chairman at Government House, confirming discussions on the southern border security situation.
On the afternoon of September 17, 2025, at Government House, General Griang Kai Srirak, Senate Vice Chairman, and General Chaipruek Duang Prawat, Army Chief of Staff and acting National Security Council Secretary, met with Prime Minister Anuthın Charnvirakul and Interior Minister at the Thai Khu Fah building before the Prime Minister saw them off at 3:05 p.m. When asked by reporters whether the southern border situation was discussed, the Prime Minister nodded in acknowledgment before heading back into the building. General Griang Kai later revealed that the visit was primarily to offer belated birthday wishes to the Prime Minister as is customary, and to thank him for presiding over his son's wedding. He confirmed they also met with General Chaipruek and had a brief conversation about the southern border situation.
