PTT Baan Phuea Station Ineligible For State Compensation
A PTT fuel station in Sisaket Province was denied government compensation for damage from foreign military action in July, as insurance and corporate partners had already covered losses totaling over 3 million baht.
On July 25, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation clarified that following social media reports, the owner of the PTT fuel station in Ban Phuea, Khantharawichai District, Sisaket Province, had filed a complaint with the parliamentary committee on disaster management seeking government compensation for damage caused by foreign military action on July 24. The convenience store at the fuel station suffered 3,056,016 baht in losses.
After reviewing assistance records, the department confirmed that Thaipat Insurance provided 1 million baht and PTT Public Company Limited contributed 2,056,616 baht. The station resumed operations on September 5. The convenience store sustained 14,894,034 baht in damage, with CP All Public Company Limited providing 9 million baht assistance; it reopened on November 1.
For casualties, all seven fatalities and twelve injured persons received full compensation totaling 58,589,265 baht and 4,643,800 baht respectively, funded by the Public Disaster Assistance Fund, the Prime Minister's Office, provincial budgets, and other sources. The fuel station's request for additional relief of 3,348,624 baht through the Sisaket Provincial Office was rejected on February 1, 2025, as it does not meet relief criteria—the damage involves business property already covered by insurance and corporate assistance.
