Radio Drama Tackles Family Issues With Star Voice Actors
Thai Media Fund launches "Lace in the Rain," a radio drama series featuring celebrity voice actors tackling family issues like bullying, mental health, and identity with 24 episodes starting September 7.
The Thai Media Fund has launched a radio drama project called "Lace in the Rain," a sound drama that brings real-life family stories to listeners through authentic voices, characters, and atmosphere. The series aims to reflect family problems and build understanding between people of different ages.
Led by Ravita Pannyamongkol as project director, the team includes celebrated voice actors and DJs such as Top Sarawut Ploy Pradub, Rocky Surabodintorn, Nam Treeniya, Jub Jaeng Panchaleay, and Kanokwan Kanokwanawong, along with numerous experts who deliver stories through sound with authenticity.
The content covers issues close to families and teenagers, including single parenthood, bullying, peer pressure, school stress, identity exploration, love, sexual diversity (LGBTQA+), mental health, and warning signs that adults may overlook. These topics are presented from the perspectives of children and families to encourage deeper listening and mutual understanding.
A press conference was held on September 4, 2026, with support from the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, joined by project director DJ Maem Ravita Pannyamongkol, screenwriter and director Piyanuch Tantisirisukul, and the voice cast, who shared behind-the-scenes insights into character creation and the use of sound to evoke emotion and imagination.
The project envisions radio drama as a space for listening, helping children, youth, and families open up, communicate, and strengthen family bonds through greater mutual understanding. The series comprises 24 episodes of 25–30 minutes each, launching Monday, September 7, 2026, on Facebook, YouTube, Podcast apps, the Khon Luek Thoong channel, and FM 103 Khon Luek Thoong radio station.
